The Church of St. Great Martyr Demetrius on Boan Kadić is located near Danilovgrad and is an extremely important spiritual and historical place, known as the church of peace.

1. Historical background and symbolism of reconciliation
The tragedy of the Kadić brotherhood: Boan Kadića is the historical seat of the Kadić brotherhood. After Todor Kadić assassinated Prince Danilo I Petrović in Kotor in 1860, retaliation followed and the expulsion of the Kadić brotherhood from their centuries-old hearths.
Construction of the temple: The temple was built in recent times on the site of the suffering and historical hearth of the Kadić brotherhood. It was built on the initiative of the descendants and with the blessing of the Church with the aim of being a place of prayer, forgiveness and fraternal reconciliation of the descendants of Petrović and Kadić.
Metoch of the Ostrog Monastery: The church was also built as the metoch of the Ostrog Monastery.
