The Church of St. John the Baptist in Trebaljevo is located in the village of Trebaljevo, not far from Kolašin, in the valley of the Tara river (along the road and railway connecting Kolašin and Mojkovac).

Consecration and origin: The temple is dedicated to the Beheading of Saint John the Baptist. It was built at the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century (the works started at the end of the 19th century, and the temple was consecrated during the time of the Kingdom of Montenegro), as a parish church for the inhabitants of Trebalje and the surrounding Potar villages.
Architecture: The church was built in the authentic spirit of Montenegrin sacral construction of that era — it is built of finely hewn stone, has a single nave base with a semicircular altar apse and a characteristic belfry "on a horsehair" above the entrance door.
Location and ambience: It is located on a hill above the Trebaljeval field, surrounded by the mountain massifs of Bjelasica and Sinjajevina, which gives it an exceptional aesthetic and spiritual ambience. Next to the church is the local village cemetery.
Spiritual and folk significance: Throughout the 20th century, the church was the main gathering place and spiritual gathering of the inhabitants of this part of the municipality of Kolasin. During the post-war period, it suffered a period of neglect, but at the end of the 20th and the beginning of the 21st century, it was restored and decorated.
