Katun Laništa (or Lanište) is located on the northwestern slopes of the Bjelasica mountain, on the Mojkovac side, in the immediate vicinity of the Biogradska gora National Park.

Location: It is located at an altitude of about 1,300 to 1,400 meters above sea level, above Mojkovac (in the direction from the settlement of Polja / Podbišće towards the mountain massif of Bjelasica).
Environment: Katun is surrounded by dense beech and conifer forests, with spacious meadows and glades. It is located in a natural belt that forms the transition from the Tara valley to the higher peaks of Bjelasica (like Bjelogrivec and Turjak).
2. Traditional katun life
Historical significance: Lanište served for centuries as a traditional summer habitat (katun) where families from the villages of Mojkovac raised cattle during the warmer months for grazing.
Food production: As in the other katuns of Bjelasica, the locals who stay here during the summer are engaged in animal husbandry and the production of traditional dairy products — sheet and full-fat cheese, cream/shell and sour milk.
3. Mountain trails and tourist importance
Mountain lodge and trails: Lanište is recognizable by the fact that it is located on important hiking and hiking routes. Nearby is the "Džambas" mountain lodge, and the katun itself is a frequent stopover or starting point for ascents to the top of Bjelogrivac, Lake Šiška and further to the heart of Bjelasica.
Outdoor activities: The area is extremely popular among recreationists for hiking, mountain biking, picking forest fruits (blueberries, mushrooms) and medicinal herbs, as well as for excursions in untouched nature.
