Ambarine is a picturesque mountain village/hamlet in the municipality of Mojkovac, located on the slopes that gravitate towards the Tara river canyon and the foot of the Sinjajevina mountain.

1. The prefix of the name
Folklore: The name of the village derives from the word ambar (granary, grain storage). According to legend, in ancient times this area was known for its fertile land and grain cultivation, so there were barns where the harvest was stored.
2. Geographical position and nature
The village is located on an elevated and sunny position above the Tara valley, from which there are beautiful viewpoints on the Mojkovac basin and the surrounding mountain massifs (Bjelasica and Sinjajevina).
It is characterized by a typical landscape of the north of Montenegro - a combination of pastures, meadows and dense forests, with extremely clean air and untouched nature.
3. Tradition and animal husbandry
Throughout history, the population was primarily engaged in agriculture, fruit growing and animal husbandry (breeding of large and small livestock).

During the second half of the 20th century, the village experienced depopulation due to the migration of the population towards the city center of Mojkovac and other cities.
