Vrtoč polje (often referred to in folk and literature as Vrtoc polje or Vrtoc) is one of the most famous and spacious mountain fields in Sinjajevina.
It is considered one of the most authentic parts of this mountain, and here are the key details about it:

Altitude: It is located in the central/eastern part of the Sinjajevin plateau, at an altitude of about 1,400 to 1,500 meters.
Terrain: Like most of Sinjajevina, Vrtoč polje is a karst field surrounded by gentle grassy elevations and undulating hills. It is characterized by endless pastures that turn bright green during spring and summer and are covered with mountain flowers.
2. Katun tradition and animal husbandry
The heart of Katun life: Vrtoč polje has been an important livestock center for centuries. Cattle farmers from the surrounding Kolasin and Mojkovac villages (such as Lipovo, Štitarica and Polje) traditionally climb it.
Authentic katuns: In the field there are several katuns with traditional wooden and stone huts. Today, the famous agricultural and dairy products of this region are still produced here, above all sheet cheese, as well as homemade cream and butter.
3. Significance for hikers and passers-by
Crossroads: Vrtoč polje is an important point on the networks of pedestrian and bicycle paths that cross Sinjajevina. The roads that connect Lipovska dolina, Gornje Lipovo and the Vratlo pass with the Mojkovac and Zabljak sides of the mountain lead over it.
Mountain biking and jeep-safari: Due to the spacious and relatively flat terrain intersected by macadam roads, Vrtoč polje is a favorite section for lovers of mountain biking, all-terrain vehicles (4x4) and quad bikes.

This field gives that recognizable "steppe" feeling that makes Sinjajevina unique in the Balkans — an expanse without trees, with a huge horizon, clean air and complete peace away from the city noise.
